ROSUREX-5 /10/ 20

ROSUVASTATIN 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg

ROSUREX-5: Each Film-coated tablet contains Rosuvastatin 5 mg.

ROSUREX-10: Each Film-coated tablet contains Rosuvastatin 10 mg.

ROSUREX-20: Each Film-coated tablet contains Rosuvastatin 20 mg.

Clinical Pharmacology:

Rosurex Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called statins. It is used to lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. Cholesterol is a fatty substance that builds up in your blood vessels and causes narrowing, which may lead to a heart attack or stroke.

Hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol), Prevention of heart attack, Prevention of stroke

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Rosurex Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Drug-Drug Interaction: ROSUREX TABLET is known to contra-indicate when taken along with cyclosporine (organ transplants medicine), warfarin or clopidogrel (blood thinner), fibrates (gemfibrozil, fenofibrate), a medicine used to lower cholesterol (ezetimibe), antacid (aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide), antibiotics (erythromycin, fusidic acid), oral contraceptive pills, regorafenib (anti-cancer), anti-viral or anti-HIV drug (ritonavir, lopinavir, atazanavir, simeprevir, ombitasvir, paritaprevir, dasabuvir, velpatasvir, grazoprevir, elbasvir, glecaprevir, and pibrentsavir). 

Drug-Disease Interaction: ROSUREX  TABLET should be taken with caution if you have kidney problems, thyroid gland problem (hypothyroidism), muscular problems (like rhabdomyolysis, myopathy), blood in the urine (haematuria) and protein in urine (proteinuria).

Drug-Food Interaction: Alcoholic beverages should be avoided with ROSUREX  TABLET.

In some cases, you may experience myalgia (muscle pain), asthenia (lack of energy), nausea, headache, abdominal pain, muscle pain, weakness, and daytime drowsiness. Most of these side effects of ROSUREX  TABLET do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

A prolonged intake of ROSUREX TABLET may cause muscular disorders like myopathy and rhabdomyolysis with kidney damage. It is recommended that you should have a liver enzyme test regularly if you are regularly taking ROSUREX  TABLET. A person taking excess alcohol and affected with liver disease should consult a doctor before its intake. Caution should be exercised if you are taking any blood thinner or anticoagulants like warfarin or coumarin. At least 2 hours gap should be maintained between intake of ROSUREX  TABLET and antacids like magnesium hydroxide and aluminium hydroxide. Increases in HbA1c and fasting glucose levels can be observed if a person is regularly taking ROSUREX  TABLET. So you should tell the doctor before having these diabetes tests. Patients with proteinuria (protein in urine) or haematuria (blood in urine) should tell the doctor before taking ROSUREX TABLET, as it might require dose adjustment.
